Concrete Experience

In the fourth week of our practicum, I was patiently waiting for our upcoming deployment and the formal start of our internship. During this time, I reflected on the previous week’s interview and realized that I had forgotten to sign my application letters. I coordinated with the practicum adviser regarding the situation and asked about the necessary steps to resolve it. As soon as the papers were returned, I went to the faculty room early to complete the missing signatures on my documents, ensuring that my deployment would not be delayed.

Reflective Observation

I learned that double-checking is necessary to spot mistakes or errors, not only in paperwork but also in everything we do, to prevent problems from arising. Moreover, I realized that even small errors can have a significant impact. Missing the signatures made me worried that it could cause delays in my deployment.

Abstract Conceptualization

For my experiences during this week, the concept of Kolb’s Experiential Learning Theory (ELT) best describes my situation because I went through the four stages of the learning cycle. In the concrete experience, I realized that I had forgotten to sign my application letters. In the reflective observation, I thought about my mistake and understood its possible consequences, such as a delay in my deployment. In the abstract conceptualization, I learned the importance of double-checking not only paperwork but also all tasks to avoid errors. Lastly, in the active experimentation, I corrected my mistake by securing the missing signatures and promised to be more careful next time.

Future Application

In the future, I will apply what I learned by consistently double-checking my documents and tasks before submission to ensure accuracy and avoid delays. The logical steps would be to spend a little amount of time for verifying the works before submission to prevent errors.
